Rangoli

Updated Post as on 18/10/2017

Rangoli is a folk art in India. It is created using rangoli powder. We can also mix colors with rangoli powders and fill rangoli design with colors. There are a wide variety of rangoli designs and one can always create their own design too. We can also get rangoli kits from shops that consist of different stencils, sprays, design products, colored sand, red brick powder, etc. Rangoli is a part of decoration during Indian festivals or any traditional occasion. People also draw simple rangolis daily in front yard and temples. Rangoli has also got different names with respect to states such as Rangoli in Karnataka, Chaookpurna in Chhattisgarh, Mandana in Rajasthan, Aripan in Bihar, Alpana in Bengal, Sanskar Bharti in Maharashtra, Kolam in Tamil Nadu, Muggulu in Andhra Pradesh, Alikhthap in Kumaon, Kalam in Kerala, and Saathiya in Gujarat.
Below are the few rangoli patterns. We can also use diyas and flowers for decorating borders of rangoli designs.Simple ones were done by me and kinda difficult ones done by my sweet sister.
